Crane damaged during works at offshore wind park
During works at an offshore wind park, the crane of the "Vos Stone" suffered damage. On Jan 23, 2019, at 9.45 a.m. the offshore ship entered the port of Harlingen, and with the help of two mobile cranes from KTF the crane was removed. Vroon holds naming ceremony for VOS Stone
The newest addition to Vroon fleet, VOS Stone, was Christened on Friday 8 December. In a ceremony conducted in Rotterdam, the vessel was named by Mrs Ingrid van Driel, Vroon Group Controller, the company said in its press release. VOS Stone is a state-of-the-art subsea-support walk-to-work vessel and sister vessel to VOS Start, currently employed at the Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm in the Irish Sea. Both vessels have been purpose built to support offshore operations in the Renewable industry and walk-to-work projects in the Oil & Gas industry. VOS Stone was delivered to Vroon by Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding, China in July 2017. After undergoing final outfitting works in the Netherlands, she is now ready to commence operations in the North Sea.
Vroon's VOS Stone chartered to VBMS for Arkona OWF
VOS Stone, a state-of-the-art subsea-support walk-to-work unit recently delivered to Vroon Offshore Services, has been awarded a contract by VBMS to support inter-array cabling operations at Arkona Offshore Windfarm from spring 2018. In summer 2018, VOS Stone will engage in similar operations at the same Windfarm in the context of E.ON’s commissioning operations, the company said in its press release. VOS Stone was delivered by Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding of China in July and is currently undergoing final outfitting works in The Netherlands, in readiness for North-Sea operations from November 2017. Fitted with a 50T active-heave-compensated crane, a motion-compensated gangway for offshore personnel transfers and holding SPS notation to accommodate up to 60 passengers in comfortable office and recreational spaces, the unit is purpose built to deliver safe, versatile and efficient offshore logistics support to Renewable and Oil & Gas industries alike.
