Wilson acquires bulker Arklow Resolve from Arklow Shipping
Norwegian short sea specialist Wilson has sealed agreements to buy 2004-built 5,000 dwt bulker pair Arklow Rover and Arklow Resolve from Irish owner Arklow Shipping. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2020.
Cooling system defect off Isle of Wight

The "Arklow Resolve", being route from Belfast to Ipswich, with 4815 tons of stones as cargo and a crew of eight on board, got its gearbox coupling destroyed in position 51 27 46.5N, 005 55 30.8W, 35 miles from St. Annes Head, on Aug 17, 2019, at 5.55 p.m. The ship went adrift and needed tug assistance in order to tow it to Swansea. The tug then took the vessel in tow at 6.15 a.m. with an ETA as of Aug 19. The harbour master in Swansea was informed and fully aware of the situation. The freighter was towed into the port of Swansea by the "Cannis" and assisted to the quay by the tug "Svitzer Bentley" (IMO: 9127356) on Aug 19 at 11 p.m. It sailed again , sailed from Swansea on Sep 12, bound for Ipswich, where it berthed at the bulk terminal on Sep 15 at 11 a.m.
