Two missing after collision with pilot boat
The "RMS Goole" was in collision with the Russian pilot boat "Krutoyar", 84 gt (MMSI: 273389560), on Nov 28, 2017, at 02.53 a.m. in the northeastern Gulf of Finland in waters of Vysotsk port. The pilot boat with three people on board capsized, one of the crew members was rescued by the "RMS Goole" at 03.31 a.m. and transferred onto a tug. The other two crew members went missing. There was no pilot on board. An SAR operation was under way, all ships in the area were alerted and asked to assist if possible. The "RMS Goole" was en route from Slvesborg to Joensuu and had been transiting Russian waters. After the collision she was moored on Vysotsk anchorage.
Repairs of collision damage completed
The "RMS Goole" left the EWD - Emder Yard and Dock Company after 20 days repair of the collision damage suffered on the Rhine. The work which was started on Sep 4 was completed on Sep 24 at 11.30 a.m., and the ship headed to Brake, where the ship berthed on Sep 25 at 1 a.m. at the south pier.
Collision on the Rhine
Enroute from Düsseldorf to Bilbao the "RMS Goole" ran aground on the Rhine at Grietherort near Emmerich on Aug 21, 2014, shortly before midnight and was hit into the stern by a container ship that was following. The damage was estimated to be some tenthousand Euro by the water Police Duisburg. The "RMS Goole" which was loaded with steel had overtaken two other ships but then got stuck onto a shoal . Anothter container loaded vessel had no chance to avoid the coaster and ran into its stern, which suffered a hole of about 5 square meters above the waterline and significant damage to the whole aft. The other ship suffered bow damage. Both ships were allowed to continue their voyage after the investigations were completed. The "RMS Goole" docked in the Waal Port of Rotterdam on Aug 22 at noon.
