Ferry stuck in the mud
There have been delays on cross-Solent ferries between Lymington and the Isle of Wight in the morning of Sep 29, 2015, after the “Wight Sun” got stuck in mud. he early morning ferry service was disrupted due to a low tide. Lower than predicted tidal conditions left the Wightlink ferry grounded on mud in its berth in Lymington. The ferry was due to make the 40-minute crossing to Yarmouth at 05:35 a.m., but was unable to get afloat until 07:00 a.m. This led to delays of as much as 90 minutes. The low tide was causing problems across the region with sailors trying to avoid some of the shallower parts of the Solent.
