Collision with fishing boat
The 'Volzhskiy 40', en route from Tekirdag to Azov, was in collision with the Turkish fishing boat 'Burhan Reis 3' after transiting the Bosphorus and entering the Black Sea on Sep 25, 2021, around 3 a.m. The hull of the freighter was breached, and the vessel suffered water ingress. It was taken to the Ahırkapı Anchorage Area under the coordination of Ship Traffic Services under assistance of the tug 'Kutzarma 11' and the lifeboat 'KEGM 3'. Allision near Akhtubinsk
The pusher tug “OTA-953” with the barges 91 and 92 anchored near Akhtubinsk, Volga river, on May 17. At 8.40 p.m. the barge 92 drifted due to a broken anchor-chain on the nearby anchored “Volzhskiy-40”. The “Volzhskiy 40” got a dent in hull, but proceeded as scheduled further from Volzhskiy to Buzan in ballast. The barge 92 was holed an developed a strong list due to water ingress. It was grounded on a sandbar to avoid sinking. The barges were loaded with steel and proceeding from Kambarka to Atsrakhan.
