Ship sailing again after repairs of grounding damage
On Apr 26 the "Victoria", which has been docked at the Lindö Yard in Vigerö/Odense after its grounding since Feb 17, got clearance to sail by the Danish Maritime Authority and left the yard at 3.30 p.m., being bound to Bremerhaven as next port of call, ETA Apr 28, 8 a.m.
Breached ship underway to Fayard
In the morning the "Victoria" was taken in tow by the tugs "Svitzer Mars" and "Svitzer Trym" bound to the Fayard-shipyard in the Odense Fjord, Funen, on Feb 17. The Danish defense was monitoring the situation closely. The defense believed that the Döhle company's salvage plan was reasonable and judicious. The Environmental Protection Agency and the Danish Maritime Authority have also been consulted, so the journey towards Fayard could begin at low speed. While the ship was being towed, the Defence environment ships followed close behind, ready to intervene if problems occurred along the way. While the grounding has breached several fuel tanks it seemed that the environmental impact was not as serious as first feared thanks to the cold water. The type of oil that was in the tanks solidified at a temperature of about six degrees Celsius with water temperature being at about two degrees. The convoy arrived at Munkebo at 2 p.m. Danish report with video: https://maritimedanmark.dk/?Id=33887
