Disabled longliner towed to yard
The tug "Lupus" took the "Kamaro" alongside in the midday hours of Oct 29 and assistee the ship to the Tromsø Skipsverft.
Kamaro safely docked in Tromsø
In the night of Oct 28, the "Kamaro" was towed to Tromsø by the "Barentshav" and docked just before noon. In the morning of Oct 27 the "Kamaro" was taken in tow again. The "Barentshav", "Normand Jarl" and "Lupus" had followed the track of the ship over night. The "Lupus" helped to dock the ship in the Breivika Port. On Oct 29 representatives from the insurance will board the ship to look at the damage. On the foreship some bollards were torn off in connection with the towing, and the engine damage had to be investigated. Norwegian report with photo: http://www.nordlys.no/nyheter/article6311024.ece
Abandoned vessel drifting towards Sørøya
The wire used in the pulling of the "Kamaro» broke in the afternoon of Oct 26 when there were still two men on board left, so that the ship was actually not being pulled, however, there was sincere hope it would be salvaged. By 9 p.m. the vessel was 12 nautical miles northwest of Sørøya with the coast guard vessels "Harstad" and "Barentshav" following the drift. There was hope the ship might drift into quieter waters there so that salvage crews could reboard it to attach a new rope.
