Flooded barge patched
The barges which were pushed by the Segesta“ and ran aground on May 25 at Neustadtl on the Danube could be patched until May 28. Two compartments had been flooded, and the attempts of the fire rescue to pump out the water with submersible pumps had failed. They managed to patch only the smaller of two leaks of the barges which were loaded with 800 tons slag sand. Commercial divers worked until the evening of May 28 to patch the leak. On May 20 the convoy could leave the accident site.
