Thu Apr 27 09:09:05 CEST 2017 Timsen

The Unified Command has completed its response to the "Todd Brown" at mile marker 940 on the Mississippi near Columbus, Kentucky, on Apr 26. The vessel was successfully raised and transported to Ingram Repair Facility. There were no restrictions to commercial or recreational vessel traffic due to the incident. A total of approximately 235 gallons of diesel fuel was discharged from the vessel during the 9-day salvage incident. SWS Enviromental Services was on scene for the duration of the incident and contained and collected the spilled fuel. Responders also safely removed over 10,500 gallons of oily water from the vessel, preventing any further discharge in the environment during the salvage operations. The remaining fuel onboard, which was stored in intact tanks, was to be removed at the repair facility. The tug had sunk on Apr 17 on the right descending bank of the Lower Mississippi.
