Sunken tug refloated
The 'Theodore Too', which partially sank in St. Catharines at the Ontario Shipyard, has been righted refloated with a crane on the afternoon of Dec 19, but there is still more work to do. Famous tug partially sank
The 'Theodore Too', an unmistakable tug with a large hat, big eyes and smiling face from the popular children’s CBC TV show character “Theodore Tugboat” has partially sunk at the Ontario Shipyards in St. Catharines. Owner Blair McKeil, chief executive officer and president of Burlington-based Breakwater Investments, released a statement on the night of Dec 17 on the incident, stating the ship was partially submerged and resting on the bottom with the stern submerged and a heavy list to starboard side. with a salvage plan being developed. Tug suffered propulsion trouble
The "Theodore Too" had to be pulled to Meteghan wharf on Nov. 1, 2018. The tug was on his way home to Halifax from Saint John, New Brunswick, when the transmission wasn’t working properly. The Coast Guard vessel "Westport" assisted by towing thge tug to the wharf in Meteghan, Digby County, and employees from A.F Theriault and Son Ltd. were to look after the repairs.
