Ship lost anchor during transit under detention

Tue Apr 13 11:31:04 CEST 2021 Timsen

The 'Port May' was detained at the Tilichiki Roadstead due to three months wage arrears to the crew members amounting to 1.8 million Roubles on April 7, 2021. Despite the PSC ban, the vessel was permitted to sail to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy due to limited food, water, and fuel supplies. While en route, the vessel sheltered from a storm in Ust-Kamchatsk Bay on Apr 9. The vessel arrived in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy on April 12. During the storm, the vessel lost an anchor, and the second was badly worn out as the dynamo was inoperative. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, the Master asked for help from the Harbour Master and expected to replenish supplies. The Master sent a letter to the Port Captain, stating that part of the rescue and fire-fighting supplies on the vessel had expired and food supplies and fresh water have almost finished. The vessel was moored in pos. 52° 59.37' N 158° 34.46' E as of April 13.

Detention in Nakhodka

Wed Mar 25 13:39:32 CET 2020 Timsen

The 'Port May' was detained in Nakhodka following an appeal by the Far East organisation of the Russian Union of Seafarers to the Captain of the port of Nakhodka, on March 23, 2020. The vessel had 17 crew members on board who complained about salary debts and poor food supplies. Union inspectors visited the vessel, which was moored at the Nakhodka fish port. They passed their findings about salary debts and poor food supplies to the captain of the port, who decided to detain the vessel until the food supplies improved and the wage debts of 4 million roubles have been paid in full.
