700 kg narcotics found aboard distressed yacht located by Shirvan
The Greek Coastguard seized 700 kg narcotics aboard a yacht which had suffered engine damage SW of Nisyros in the afternoon of Aug 31, 2017, and radioed a mayday call. The “Shirvan” on its way from Istanbul to Iskenderun located the distressed vessel, and the patrol boat "El Akt" was guided to the casualty. There were three crew members of Turkish nationality on board. The Coastguard found the narcotics in plastic bags inside the yacht which was towed to Mandraki Nisyros by the “Dimosthenis Gianisis” for investigations, where the convoy arrived in the morning of Sep 1.
