STENA SCOTIA returns to Irish Sea service between Belfast and Heysham
Stena Line’s 1,692-lanemetre freight ro-ro STENA SCOTIA is to return to service on the Irish Sea from 4 August, operating on the company’s Belfast-Heysham route, replacing near sister STENA HIBERNIA, which is drydocking for her scheduled refit at Belfast’s Harland and Wolff shipyard.
Large scale paint loss
On Mar 7, 2016 the "Stena Scotia" allided with a Mooring Pylon in Killingholme. The ship suffered large scale scratches and dents on its starboard side but remained seaworthy. On Mar 13 at noon the ferry berthed at Damen Shipreapir in the Wilton Port in Rotterdam for repairs. Stena deploys extra ship on Killingholme route
04/09/2014 - Stena Line is to increase the capacity of its service between Hoek van Holland and Killingholme in England, by deploying a third ship. As of today, 2 September, the ‘Stena Scotia’ will be operational. The ship, with a capacity of over 1500 lane metres, will operate three times a week to and from the two ports. The ‘Stena Transit’ and the ‘Stena Transporter’ already sail between Hoek van Holland and Killingholme. During peak periods, these vessels are currently often completely full and Stena anticipates further economic growth in the United Kingdom. Source: Stena Line
