In the early morning hours of May 11, 2014, the cargo vessel "Orange Island" was in collision with the "Sten Moster", which had left the port of Antwerp the previous day, in the middle of the English Channel. The "Sten Moster" suffered a three by five meter hole at port side above the water line. The Portland Coastguards diverted the ship to Rotterdam for repairs. By May 12 it was on anchorage 5 off the coast. The "Orange Island" had only minor damage such as scratches and was allowed to continue its passage from antwerp to New London. Both vessels were travelling in the same direction along the Channel, and the collision happened as the "Orange Island" tried to overtake the "Sten Moster".
