Passenger was infected with corona virus
On Sep 22, 2020, Norled stated that they have been informed by the municipal chief in Høyanger that a passenger who has taken the 'Stavanger' between Lavik and Oppedal has been diagnosed with coronavirus. He had taken the ferry at 11.50 a.m. on Sep 20 on board a bus. The risk of infection for other passengers on the ferry was considered very low and unlikely. The bus passengers were tested on arrival in Stavanger.
Ferry out of service, no spare ferry available
On June 11, 2019, around 6 p.m. the "Stavanger" sustained a problem with one main engine and had to be sidelined in Ytre Oppedal. The spare ferry "Bjørnefjord" was also out of service because it lacked an important part for the engine. On June 12 only two ferries served the heavily trafficked E39 connection over the Sognefjord between Lavik and Oppedal. Norled was working on getting one of the two ferries operational again.
Trapdoor entangled
On Dec 20, 2013, the trapdoor of the "Stavanger" got entangled at the quay of the fishing Pier in Stavanger. The ferry capacity between Stavanger and Tau was reduced from three to two ferries thus.
