Allision in Brunsbüttel
In the afternoon of Sep 11, 2018, The "St Johannes" was in collision with 11.9. allided the Brunsbüttel canal ferry 'St John' (MMSI: 211667140) with the lock system in Brunsbüttel and caused aDamage to the tail unit. Around 5:00 p.m, the 56-meter long ferry crashed against the northern internal stabilizer of the old lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel. The railing of the canal-side tail, which is provided with a catwalk on the entire length, suffered damage in its rear area over a length of about five meters, while the ferry remained intact. The ferry serves exclusively to transport building materials and construction vehicles from the south side of Brunsbüttel to the construction site of the 5th lock chamber.
