Deadly fall in Brake
In the evening of Sep 19, 2014, a Vietnamese crew member of the "Silver Pegasus" fell into the cargo hold of the ship while it was in Brake. He suffered severe injuries and died in a hpspital in Oldenburg. The 2nd officer intended to survey operations while the ship unloaded some thousand tons of cargo. Possible he slipped from the ladder and fell six meters deep. Other crew members found him consciousless and alerted the fire rescue which recovered him with a stretcher. The ship was detained for the time of investigations by the police and sailed on to Macapa on Sep 20 after no safety issues were found.
