Divers found the body of a missing Filipino of the "Sierre Leyre" on Dec 14, 2010, who had disappeared from the ship which was berthed at the Tvaer Quay at Esbjerg. He was found near an ice covered ramp from which he probably slid into the water on his way to a garbage container.

At Wandelaar Anchorage, 30 kilometres off the Belgian coast, the Gibraltar-flagged chemical tanker „Sten Moster“, (IMO: 9341184) coming from the Oxelö Sound was in collision with the “Sierra Levre”, which was carrying a cargo of fruit and coming from Antwerp, on May 14, 2010. The tanker suffered a large hole above the waterline. The “Sierra Levre”, which also had suffered significant damage, reached Flushing on May 15 at 12.45 a.m. and berthed at Hansweert two hours later. On May 16 it entered a dry dock at Antwerp Shiprepair. The “Stan Moster” which carried no cargo was also able to proceed to Flushing with own power and berthed at the Total oilpier at 5 p.m. on May 15.
