Supplier disabled by engine fire
In the night of May 11, 2013, the "Siem Sailor", coming from Stavanger, suffered an engine room fire west of Stavanger, and sent out distress signals at 3.36 a.m. The vessel with 16 crew on board was 50 nautical miles west of Stavanger. A rescue helicopter was sent and more vessels joined to assist. The fire could be extinguished, and the ship has to be towed to shore. Among the vessels that were nearby was the KNM "Roald Amundsen", which helped to supply the crew with firefighting equipment. The fire, however, flared up again after having been extinguished, but the situation was under control at 6 a.m. The ship docked at Dusavik at 23.30 p.m. Norwegian report with photos: http://www.tv2.no/nyheter/innenriks/supplybaat-sendte-noedsignaler-etter-motorbrann-4044049.html
