Search for missing worker scaled down

Wed May 10 12:24:52 CEST 2017 Timsen

An air and sea search for a man reported missing from the "Noble Lloyd Noble" installation was launched on May 9, 2017, at 9.20 p.m. in the Mariner Field, approximately 90 miles east of Shetland, after a search of the rig failed to locate him. A Coastguard search and rescue helicopter was called out but later returned to base. Two standby vessels and a platform supply vessel were continuing to search. Noble Drilling said mobilised emergency response teams in Aberdeen and Stavanger to support the search effort. Statoil vessels have been involved in an extensive search of the water surrounding the rig and continued to do everything we can to support the ongoing search effort. All operations have been stood down on the rig. An extensive search of the rig itself and the water surrounding it was ongoing, led by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), involving the use of a search and rescue helicopter, two standby vessels and a platform supply vessel. The search was meanwhile scaled down.
