Grounding in Corinth Canal
In the night of Nov 21, 2020, the 'Seaven Start', enroute from Piraeus to Volos, ran aground during the transit of the Corinth Canal inside the Isthmus with 17 crew members on board. The ship was detached by a floating crane and then towed by a tug to an anchorage outside the Corinth and then to the port of Corint for inspections. The port authority banned the ship from sailing until a seaworthiness certificate has been issued. No injuries were reported from the incident and no marine pollution was observed.
