Fishing vessel took on water
The Lerwick lifeboat and a rescue helicopter were sent the aid of the "Sea Hunter" which was taking on water through a burst pipe north of Lerwick harbour in the morning of Nov 2, 2017. The "Sea Hunter" was drifting two miles north of Bressay when the call went out to the Coastguard at 7.30 a.m., which dispatched an eight-man rescue team as well as the Lerwick lifeboat and the Coastguard rescue helicopter 900. The lifeboat arrived by 7.50 a.m. while the helicopter made it by 8 a.m. The vessel was towed in to Lerwick harbour’s Greenhead base by te tug "The Knab", and the water was then pumped out using Coastguard equipment. Also the fire rescue was ready to assist in the dewatering efforts.
