Bulkcarrier suspect in hit and run accident

The "Sasebo Glory" was a suspect in hit and run accident in the morning of Aug 3, 2019, at 1 a.m. off the Taiwan eastern coast. The bulk carrier, being en route from Zangjiagang to San Lorenzo Argentina, allegedly struck the Taiwanese 18,5-ft-fishing vessel "Quan Yi Cai No. 1" with six crew members on board, didn’t stop and continued sailing. The fishing vessel was sliced in two, the crew went missing. Among them were five Indonesian nationalities. The patrol boat "Kelon" of the Japanese Coast Guard found the two drifting halves of a fishing vessel on Aug 6 at 9 p.m. Initially they could not be identified, but on a life vest found nearby the name ‘Yong Zai Fu‘ was found, which was the former name of the ‘Quan Yi Cai No. 1‘ which had been due to return to the Wushi Port in Hong Kong on Aug 4. According to the AIS data it was found out that the bulkcarrier had been near the site where the signal got lost. On Aug 13 the "Sasebo Glory" was under way in the Indian Ocean with an ETA at San Lorenzo as of Sep 10, 4 p.m. Chinese report with photos: https://www.cna.com.tw/news/firstnews/201908130308.aspx
