Rugged wreckage raised
The operation to lift the wreckage of the "Santa Ana" was finished on May 22 around 6 p.m. Two large mobile cranes of the Galician compancy Latero have raised the wreckage within about an hour at the port of El Musel. The deformation of the ship and the accumulated sludge inside, which increased the weight to 200 tons, forced salvors to install a second crane for a safer lifting operation. The wreck will be scrapped in the coming days.
