Grounding off Vlaardingen
The "Flandria Seaways" encountered an engine blackout whilst she was outbound from Vlaardingen on Feb 24 around 9 a.m., and ran aground just before the Maeslant wate rbarrier before Hoek van Holland. The pusher tug "Milla" was the first boat on location to assist, followed by the tugs "Union 7" and "Union 11". Engine and storm problems
The "Flandria Seaways" had to cancel its departure from Rotterdam to Felixstowe on Jan 5, 2012, for security reasons caused by the stormy weather. The ship, which also had suffered engine problems,was sailing again on Jan 6.
