47 kilos cocaine seized in Caldera
The Drug Control Police (PCD) of the Ministry of Public Security seized a cocaine load attached to the hull of the "Cap Palmerston" in Caldera de Esparza, Punta Arenas. The drug was hidden in a compartment known as "parasite". Divers who made revisions on Jan 13, 2018, noticed something strange in the hull of a ship that had arrived from Colombia, and alerted the PCD. The agents confirmed the discovery of 47 kilos of cocaine in the compartment. There were no detainees. The "Cap Palmerston" had omme from San Buenaventura de Colombia and unloaded 206 containers in Caldera. She sailed again on Jan 14.
