Trawler pulled over reef unscathed
After the 'Samantha' had run aground on Nov 26 at midnight, the lifeboat 'Niels Iversen' could not approach the ship at low tide. With the rising tide, there was enough water to pull the ship across the reef. Good weather conditions supported the refloating attempt. The 'FRB 18' was first on scene and was able to turn the trawler around and pull it out a little, after which the ' Niels Iversen' pull the rest of the way out. As there was no damage to either rudder or propeller, the 'Samantha' could sail into the port of Havneby unassisted, where it remained stationary as of Nov 28.
