Boat escorted to Bermeo after collision
he pleasure boat 'Aztimar Bat' reported the collision with another pleasure craft off Izaro Island and picked up its crew member in good condition on Nov 29, 2023. The boat has sunk on a water depth of 40 meters. The CCS Bilbao of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Monte Gorbea', which accompanied the 'Aztimar Bat' to Bermeo.
Fishing vessel escorted to Ondarroa after fire
On Nov 8, 2023, at 2:32 a.m. a fishing vessel with seven people on board reported a fire in the bow cabins. The crew managed to control the fire extinguishers, but smoke was still coming out. The CCS Bilbao of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Monte Gorbea', which escorted the ship to Ondarroa, where one crew member was evacuated. The firefighters finally extinguished the fire from the quay.
Pleasure boat towed to bermeo
On March 21, 2023, the 5,5-m-pleasure boat 'Siljaline' with two people on board issued a mayday call in the vicinity of the La Gaviota platform. It had suffered a battery problems and could't start it's engine. The CCS Bilbao of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Monte Gorbea' to assist, which took the boat in tow and safely pulled it to the port of Bermeo.
