RollDock adds third L&T heavy lift vessel to fleet
Dutch marine transportation specialist, RollDock Shipping BV, part of Roll Group, has confirmed the purchase of a new semi-submersible multipurpose heavy lift vessel, the third bought from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) India. The MV RollDock Sky is the third in a series supplied by L&T and joins the MV RollDock Sun and MV RollDock Sea. RollDock and L&T formally ended their cooperation in 2013 but continued with the purchase of the final vessel despite concerns about market conditions. “We are very proud that despite the unfavorable economic times, we are still able to maintain the growth strategy of our business,” said Wout van der Zwan, chief executive of Roll Group. In addition to this latest acquisition, RollDock has two vessels under construction which will take the fleet to seven within the next 12 months. In cooperation with BigLift, BigRoll Shipping was founded and four open wide deck ice class vessels are on order with the COSCO Dalian Shipyard in China. The first MC Class vessel is nearing completion and will soon enter into service for BigRoll Shipping. - See more at: http://www.maritimejournal.com/news101/industry-news/rolldock-adds-third-l-and-t-heavy-lift-vessel-to-fleet#sthash.TZiY79Ay.dpuf
