More sailings cancelled

There were yet more cancellations on the 'Red Osprey' on Dec 5. The 4.30 p.m., 7.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. sailings from Cowes were cancelled as well as the 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. crossing from Southampton. An earlier technical issue on the ferry had caused cancellations on the morning.

Ferry suffered technical fault

A technical issue on the 'Red Osprey' has forced the cancellation of two sailings on the morning of Dec 5. An issue with one of the doors on board was the reason behind the cancellations, with earlier crossings having to leave port up to 40 minutes late as a result. The 09:00 a.m. departure from Southampton and the 10:30a.m. departure from East Cowes have been cancelled.

Sailings cancelled due to technical issue

Just 24 hours after re-entering service, the 'Red Osprey' suffered engine troubles resulting in cancellations on the East Cowes-Southampton route on Nov 26. The 09:00 a.m. sailing from East Cowes was cancelled due to a technical issue with the main aft engine. The 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. sailings from Southampton have been pulled,a alongside the 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. sailings from East Cowes too. On the night of Nov 22, problems with the engine first came to light which resulted in some cancellations on that day and throughout Nov 23. On Nov 24,, a further 12 sailings were cancelled to enable engineers to resolve the problem.The ferry re-entered service on the morning of Nov 25 after successful sea trials. It came just days after an issue was identified with the aft engine on the 'Red Eagle' too, which also led to cancellations. The third vessel in the fleet, the 'Red Falcon', is currently in dry dock for annual refit.
