Ship to be auctioned for 0 Euros

Mon Jun 07 11:05:26 CEST 2021 Timsen

The Port of Malaga is auctioning the 'Ratibor', which has been in a state of abandonment in port since mid-2015, for zero Euros. At the end of 2019, the Port Authority tried unsuccessfully to sell it for 180,000 Euros. The new sale procedure is derived from the diligence issued by the Commercial Court number 1 of Cádiz on March 26, 2021 within the framework of a precautionary procedure. One of the peculiarities of this action is that the ship is not registered in any known ship registry and is sold free of charge. The ship may be visited with prior notification and coordination with the Port Operations Division of the Malaga Port Authority from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from June 7 until June 12, 2021. The deadline for submitting offers runs until July 26.The ship located on the left bank of the Guadalmedina river where it had arrived from Algeciras on June 30, 2015 for a technical stopover. Abandoned ship to be auctioned

Tue Dec 17 12:39:06 CET 2019 Timsen

The Malaga Port Authority on Nov 29, 2019, has finally released the 'Ratibor' to public auction which, after arriving on June 30, 2015 and being abandoned by its owner, remained docked on the left bank of the Guadalmedina River. The vessel will go on auction for an amount of 180,000 Euros excluding VAT. Those parties interested in the ship can present their respective documents according to the specifications published by the Port Authority, the deadline for applications to intervene in the auction will be on Dec 30. Already with all the proposals on the table, in a public event that will be held on Jan 22, 2020, it will be decided whether the ship finally has got a new owner. Otherwise three more acutions may be carried out, which will reduce the proposed initial amount by 15%. If there is no new owner, the Port Authority could make a direct award of the ship as it happened in the case of 'Just Reema', dubbed as a drug ship, which has now been renamed 'Eider' and remained docked at the breakwater. Nigerian Trader Sues Glencore Over Failed Payments for Sailors’ Release

Thu Jun 25 08:35:14 CEST 2015 arnekiel

(Bloomberg) — Glencore Plc is being sued by a former representative in Nigeria who says the commodities trader promised him $5 million to help free 15 Russian sailors detained on suspicion of smuggling guns. Og Amazu, owner of trader Amazoil Nigeria Ltd., says in a London lawsuit that Alex Beard, Glencore’s head of oil, failed to pay the fee in return for his assistance. Amazu, who claims to have earned $64 million working for Glencore since 2007, says in the complaint that he arranged meetings with “high-ranking” Nigerian security officials at the behest of Beard to help free crew members of the Seadiver. Amazu explained at the meetings “Glencore had been an extremely loyal and sizeable investor in Nigeria and that it was extremely concerned about the situation,” lawyers for Amazu said in the lawsuit filed last week. http://gcaptain.com/nigerian-trader-sues-glencore-over-failed-payments-for-sailors-release/
