Main engine failure off Keramoti
On Feb 14, 2025, at noon, the Central Port Authority of Kavala was informed that a failure occurred in the port side main engine of the 'Protoporis VI' on its scheduled route from the port of Thassos to the port of Keramoti. The ferry sailed to Keramoti, where it safely disembarked all passengers and vehicles. The Port Authority of Kavala prohibited the departure of the ship until the damage was repaired and a certificate of class maintenance was presented by the monitoring classification society. The passengers were forwarded to their destination with the care of the ship-owning company.
