Another livestock carrier troubled enroute to Midia
The 'Janay' suffered technical failure at Batumi on Nov 25, 2019.Repairs were carried out by crew, and the departure permission was granted by the harbour master upon completion of a state surveyor's inspections. The 'Janay' sailed from Batumi in ballast condition on Nov 26, and was bound for Midia where just another livestock carrier, the 'Queen Hind', had sunk causing the death of more than 14.000 sheep.
Technical faulure off Cesme
The "Janay", while en route from Beirut to Istanbul in ballast suffered a technical failure and dropped anchor at Cesme anchorage on Feb 23, 2018. Repairs were still being carried out by the crew and will the ship was to resume its voyage upon completion of further repairs.
