Poseidon assisted grounded inland vessel

Significant emergency resources were mobilized in the evening of Dec 12, 2023, between Voulte-sur-Rhône and Pouzin to prevent a barge from hitting the Pouzin bridge and its gas pipe. The vessel had been stuck in the sand since Dec 6 and was threatened to drift away due to the flooding of the Rhône in the Ardèche Prefecture Firefighters, gendarmes, GRDF and CNR (Compagnie Nationale du Rhône) agents, boatmen and local officials were busy to properly moor the barge, which was carrying 1800 tonnes of ore , as the rapid rise in water levels in recent days had raised fears that it would float off uncontrolled. The ship started moving at around 9 p.m.. With the help of the "Poseidon", the ship finally reached the port of Pouzin, a few kilometers downstream and was moored without damage around midnight. The Ardèche firefighters had dispatched around 15 forces to the scene.
