Storm crashed ferry against quay
The "Portlink V" with hundreds of passengers on board was pushed against pier 1 at Merak port, Javaby, while departing bound for Bakauheni, Sumatra, on Dec 3, 2017. The hull of the ship was damaged at port side by the pylons, and also the quay was damaged. The ferry, carrying hundreds of passengers, was forced to leave port in spite of the damage to avoid more allision damage.
