99 boat people rescued in two missions
In the night of Oct 26, 2022, and in the morning of Oct 27, the CROSS Gris-Nez (CROSS) identified several boats in difficulty. The patrol boat 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' rescued 50 people from a troubled boat off Dunkirk. They were dropped off at the port of Dunkirk. In the early morning, the PSP 'Pluvier' was engaged off Calais to rescue 49 boat people. After being picked up on board, they were taken care of and then dropped off at the port of Calais. All castaways were taken care of by the border police and the departmental fire and rescue service then.
