Fishing vessel was in danger of sinking
On the early morning of Jan 18, 2025, the Port Police of the port of Gijón informed Salvamento Marítimo, that the 'Plaia de Rueta', which was berthed at the Rendiello dock, had suffered a leak was in danger if sinking with a list to port side. They requested collaboration to pump out the water. The SAR boat 'Salvamar Rígel' was mobilized and also the Gijón Fire Department was alerted. The involved rescue forces managed to drain the water out with several motor pumps. The fishing vessel was stabilized at midday. Later, the crew of the ship proceeded to repair the leak.
