Tanker assisted 18 migrants
Salvamento Marítimo has rescued 18 migrants of North African origin, including a woman and a child, from a boat 22 kilometers off the coast of Almería on July 15, 2023. The MRCC Almería has been notified of a small boat which had set sail from Algeria. After triangulating the position of the boat, the 'Pico Basile', which was in the area, was contacted and has confirmed the position of a white boat with people on board. The tanker has been asked to continue alongside the patera until the SAR ship 'Salvamar Algenib' arrived, whichstarted the rescue of the boat people at 9.15 a.m. They have been taken to the port of Almería at 11:15 a.m.
Medevac off Finisterre
On March 11, 2019, the "Pico Pasile" requested the medical evacuation of a crew member from ship, 62 miles west of Finisterre. Salvamento Marítimo deployed the helicopter Pesca I which hoisted the patient twho was ransferred to the Alvaro Cunqueiro hospital of Vigo.
