Fire on barge in Aschach
In the morning of Oct 24, 2018, a fire broke out in the engine room of the "Pannonia", 1188 ts (EU-No.: 04027350), which had berthed on the Danube at the wharf in Aschach in the Eferding region the previous afternoon. The diesel engine for the generators had caught fire due to an electrical defect. At 8.30 a.m. the crew remarked development of smoke and raised alarm. The volunteer forces of the fire brigades Alkoven, Aschach, Pupping, Goldwörth and Landshaag attended. They penetrated the engine room with respirators and localized the fire. Then they quickly were able to put it out.
