On May 22, 2014, the Maritime Security Centre in Cuxhaven was alerted by the "Ostpreussen 1". An angler suffered acute cardiovascular problems and needed urgent medical attention. The Federal Police inspection sent the patrol boat "BP 23 Bad Duben" from Neustadt which was nearby and changed the course immediately. It reached the cutter within short time. The physical condition of the patient had deteriorated so rapidly that three crew members immediatelty started with CPR. Until the arrival of the lifeboat "Bremen" othe patient could be stabilized due to the fast and professional primary medical care. The angler was transferred onto the "Bremen" and was continued to be supplied by a medical on board. The patient was brought to the Sana Clinic in Oldenburg then.
