Oste disabled due to overheated fan belt
On Oct 30, 2018, at 11.30 a.m. the "Oste" suffered smoke development on the Trave near Holzwiek off Schlutup. The crew sealed off the engine room and alerted the fire brigade which attended with a fire boat jointly with the "Hans Ingwersen" of the DGzRS station in Lübeck and the maritime police. The fire brigade inspected the engine room and found an overheated fan belt which had caused the smoke, but no fire. Another vessel of the waterway authority took the "Oste" in tow to Travemünde.
