Ferry sidelined due to defective water pump

The 'Orø', serving on the route Holbæk-Orø, had to cancel several departures due to a defective water pump on the aft main engine since Feb 26, 2025, The last departure on the evening was cancelled as well as all departures on Feb 27 until 1.20 p.m. The ship was sidelined in Holbæk. The ship was expected to resume its sailings at 1.20 p.m. with the first departure from Orø at 1.55 p.m. that day.

Allision in Holbæk

On Sep 8, 2015, at 2.30 p.m. the "Orø" ran into a stone pier in Holbæk port as the ferry was heading out to sea as the masterhad to dodge an angler in a boat. The angler had sailed out of the port before the ferry. To avoid a collision, the master chose to hit the stone pier. After the allision, the "Orø" returned to port. Sailings were suspended for four hours while a diver went down and checked the hull for damage. After he found only a few scratches in the hull, at 6.30 p.m. the ferry was allowed to sail again from Holbæk to Orø. In the meantime passengers going to or from Orø were transferred to the ferry "Østre" with coaches.
