Cargo ship under repair after suffering ice damage
The "OOCL Belgium" has been delayed in the port of Montreal where she is undergoing unscheduled maintenance. The ship entered the port on June 1, 2016, after having sailed from Liverpool on May 25. No details were given as to how the ship sustained the damage, but on its way it had been trapped in ice off the Canadian coast. The vessel schedule was expected to be delayed by more than two weeks under GEX1 service. As a schedule recovery plan, the replacement vessel "Cap Harrisson" (IMO: 9440796) was to be phased in by OOCL to the GEX1 service in Antwerp on June 16 and undertake a single round voyage. Liverpool imports were to be transshipped at Antwerp onto next GEX1 vessel. The vessel will phase out at Bremerhaven.
