ONE Aquila left Tacoma earlier than expected
The 'ONE Aquila' was diverted from calling Long Beach to Tacoma for repairs reaching the port on Nov 6. The discharge of containers was taking place quicker than forecast and the vessel departed Tacoma already on Nov 12. She was was now expected to arrive in Long Beach on Nov 15, rather than Nov 26 as originally forecast. However, at present it was not expected to be able to berth at Long Beach until Nov 20. She was then due to call in Oakland on Nov 27.
Ship reached Tacoma after cargo loss
The 'One Aquila' has berthed at the Husky Container Terminal in Tacoma on Nov 6, She will be out of service for some weeks for survey and discharge of collapsed containers. The vessel suffered a loss of containers in severe weather on Oct 30 and was diverted to Tacoma from its original destination of the port of Long Beach. After completion of the discharge operations and repair works, the vessel was to continue its voyage as per the original service rotation. She is now scheduled to call Long Beach on Nov 26 and Oakland on Dec 4. The dates are subject to progress on the survey and discharge work in Tacoma.
Container collapse in storm, at least 100 containers lost
The 'One Aquila' has suffered a container stack collapse and lost at least 100 containers overboard in the North Pacific midway between the Japanese and the US coast in vicinity 40 00 N 178 10 E in the morning of Oct 30, 2020, in bad weather, while enroute from Yantian to Long Beach, serving the Pacific South Loop 7 (PS7). The ship turned to starboard and increased its speed to keep wind in the starboard quarters in order to reduce the weather impact. The vessel was now headed to Tacoma, ETA Nov 6.
