Propeller lost and found
The "Oksøy" lost its propeller at Sandøya on Mar 20, 2016, 2016, while she was heading towards the ferry landing. The ferry lost speed though the engine was working normal, but the propeller was not rotating. The ferry could be secured at the dock where it was found out that the propeller was missing. The disabled ferry was then towed to Hansen & Arntzen in Ekstrand for repairs, and due to quick work the ferry returned to operation again on the route Brevik - Sandøya - Bjørkøy on Mar 21 at 7.20 p.m. In the morning the diver Lars Christian Loken found the propeller which was completely undamaged, on the seabed so that it could be fixed again. The passenger boat "Dikkon" and the park boat "Synnøve" had been inserted by the Brevik Ferry Society IKS in the meantime.
Ferry drydocked due to bow thruster damage
On Nov 12, 2015, the "Oksøy" suffered a damage to the hydraulics of the bow propeller after the ship had suffered a malfunction of the thruster. It turned out that there was something wrong with the hydraulics of the engine, and on Nov 13, the "Oksøy" was drydocked in Brevik to disassemble the machinery for thorough examinations. The repair may take several days depending on the necessity to obtain replacement parts. If the entire propeller has to be replaced, a completely new tunnel would have to be burned in the hull of the Ferry which would take time. The ferry company was working much of the day to notify residents on Sandøya, so they managed to transport their cars over on the mainland.
