Cargo ship significantly overloaded
On Nov 19, 2017, officers of the water police Brunsbüttel found out that the "NS Holland" which had transited the Kiel Canal westbound from Helsingborg to Greece was significantly overlauded. The draught exceeded the allowed mark by 20 centimeters, which turned out to be an overload of 167 tons fertilizer. The ship was detained in Brunbüttel, and a safety deposit of 1.400 Euro had to be paid, and an investigations was launched by the police. The ship was moored on the South Ancorage off Brunsbüttel and was subject of a port state control on Nov 20. It was still being anchored on the Elbe by Nov 23. On Nov 28 it berthed at Glückstadt to get unloaded the excess cargo. She left the port again after unloading on Nov 29 at 11 a.m. and headed to Nea Karvali, ETA Dec 17.
Disabled cargo ship towed to Fowey
The "Sea Ems" got into trouble in the morning of Dec 7, 2016, in English Canal, south of Fowey. The disabled vessel started to drift and was taken in tow by the tug "SD Mars" (IMO: 9476329) around 3 p.m. The convoy headed towards Fowey at a speed of 4-5 knots and reached port at 7.30 p.m. The "Sea Ems" was en route from Howdendyke to Limerick.
