10 crew members still missing

Mon Nov 25 12:42:22 CET 2024 Timsen

On Nov 22, another body was found of the missing crew members of the '135 Geumseong', 129 gt, leaving 10 people still missing. Another body was recovered on Nov 16. Of the 10 people still missing, eight were South Koreans and the other two were Indonesians. The ship had on board 27 people, 16 South Koreans and 11 Indonesian, when the Coast Guard received a distress call on Nov 8 at 4:33 a.m. indicating that the vessel was sinking 24 km off the coast of Biyang Island. It had left Seogwipo Port in Jeju on Nov 7 at 11:49 a.m. to fish for mackerel. Of the crew, 15 were found alive, among them six South Koreans and nine Indonesians. Two Koreans were found in an unconscious state and were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead. At the time of the capsizing, most of the crew members were on deck, except for two including the cook, who were reportedly not wearing life jackets. The ship began to tilt slowly as the fishing nets were being hauled in before another carrier boat approached, and then the vessel suddenly tilted. 18 Coast Guard ships and five planes, rescue teams, three Navy ships and 13 civilian boats, were involved in the SAR operation as well as 27 divers from a special rescue team, who began searching underwater at 1 p.m. Reports with photos: https://www.msn.com/fr-fr/actualite/monde/2e-ld-naufrage-%C3%A0-jeju-13-p%C3%AAcheurs-rescap%C3%A9s-2-morts-et-12-disparus/ar-AA1tIYPg?apiversion=v2&noservercache=1&domshim=1&renderwebcomponents=1&wcseo=1&batchservertelemetry=1&noservertelemetry=1# https://www.msn.com/fr-fr/actualite/monde/naufrage-%C3%A0-jeju-un-autre-corps-retrouv%C3%A9-lors-des-recherches/ar-AA1tQGfy?apiversion=v2&noservercache=1&domshim=1&renderwebcomponents=1&wcseo=1&batchservertelemetry=1&noservertelemetry=1
