Tender boat disabled off Barrow
The 'Njord Lapwing' (66 gt, built 2013), en route from Liverpool, lost all power and was drifting in position 54 03 58.2 N, 003 47 39.0 W, 19 miles west of Barrow-in-Furness, on Nov 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. The vessel required lifeboat assistance. AThe support vessels 'Njord Thor' and 'Fairline Surveyor' came to assist the vessel until the RNLI boat from Barrow, the 'Graxe Dxon', which was launched at 11.40 a.m., arrived on scene to assist.It arrived on scene 70 minutes later. Whilst under tow, the stricken vessel resolved the power issue. The Barrow ALB stood down, and SAR operations were terminated at 2.20 p.m. The lifeboat was back at the boathouse at 3.30 p.m. The tender boat berthed in the Ramsden Dock in Barrow-in-Furness on Nov 9 at 6.45 p.m. Winds on scene were 3 Beaufort.
Service boat assisted broken down power boat
The RNLI lifeboat 'new Brighton' was called to rescue the passengers of a power boat that had broken down in the afternoon of Nov 4, 2019. The volunteers were alerted by UK Coastguard after the vessel was stranded in the Crosby channel. The Njord Offshore's 'Njord Lapwing' attached the craft to a lifebuoy line before the 'New Brighton' towed the vessel and its four passengers to the Liverpool Marina.
