Engine gets fixed at Florø
The "Maersk Flensburg" suffered engine problems enroute Bergen - Ålesund in the night of Nov 29, 2011. The vessel lost speed north Nekkøyosen. Due to the lack of progress the ship had to anchor north of Ånnøya and west of Nærøya. Short before midnight the tug "Stadt Sjøtransport" was tasked to take the vessel in tow. There was a storm in the area, and on the whole three tugs proceeded to the casualty, but the "Stadt Sjøtransport" was able to pull the container ship to Florø. On Nov 29 at 2.45 a.m. it was safely moored at the Fugleskjars Quay where it actually still remains until the engine problems are fixed, before continuing to Ålesund.
Disabled in Norwegian sea
On Nov 28 boxship Maersk Flensburg suffered engine failure off island Naeroya, Norway, Norwegian sea. In stormy weather conditions crew managed to drop an anchor to prevent grounding. Three tugs were summoned to assist, they towed disabled vessel to Flora, where vessel is to undergo repairs. As of 0300 UTC Nov 30 vessel is berthed in Flora. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc
