Collision off Granville
The 'Naïs- CH.640361' was in collision with a fishing vessel from Saint-Quay-Portrieux in the Côtes d'Armor, 12 nautical miles off the coast of Granville on the late morning of Feb 19, 2025. The whelk fishing vessel suffered a breach above the waterline.The SNSM boat 'Roquereuil-SNS 444' from Saint-Martin-de-Bréhal was mobilized to assist. The water ingress was controlled by the crew. The ship was able to return to Granville, escorted by the SNSM boat and the customs boat 'Avel Sterenn-DS 46' from Saint-Malo. The fishermen had made a makeshift repair, and a motor pump was put into service to allow the heavily damaged ship to return. The 'Naïs' arrived at Granville at around 3 p.m., where it was beached in the outer harbour. The Breton boat was able to return to the port without damage. The operation was supervised by the CROSS Jobourg and the French Navy.
